Ben Harp, President
Ben Harp oversees the strategic direction for Polymer Medical including technology development, M&A, and industry relationships. Before founding Polymer Medical, Ben was president of a contract molding and assembly services firm for healthcare and biomedical applications. As a plastics industry executive and advocate, he has a reputation for putting in place best-in-class QMS, quality management systems, that support clients’ needs and application requirements. For example, Kentucky’s governor acknowledged Ben’s commitment and dedication to improving plastics manufacturing by awarding him the title of Kentucky Colonel. Colleagues and clients alike note Ben’s remarkable know-how of materials science and process engineering combined with his mastery of business. His plastics industry career began nearly 30 years ago as a territory manager with Ashland, a publicly traded and global provider of additives and specialty ingredients for industries including pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals.
He has also served as president of the board of directors of Healthy Manufacturers of New York State (HMNYS) and the Manufacturers Association of Plastic Partners (MAPP). Ben earned his MBA and bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Canisius University where he was also a Division I athlete.
